Practical Year
The entire spectrum of neurosurgical treatment is covered at the University Department of Neurosurgery. In addition to outpatient and inpatient treatment of patients, a specialized neurosurgical intensive care unit is available. The operating theaters are equipped with the latest technology.
Take Responsibility
From the first day, you will be assigned to teams led by senior physicians and will be assigned a tutor (mentoring program). This gives you the opportunity to actively participate in the treatment of patients under supervision from the very beginning.

PJ students are firmly integrated into our surgical schedule. As a first assistant, you will get to know the entire spectrum of neurosurgery and be an active member of the surgical team.
Look beyond the end of your nose
During your PJ, you will also have the opportunity to experience all aspects of the neurosurgical treatment spectrum through both in-clinic and inter-clinic rotations. At the end of the tertial, two-week rotations in the following departments of the Neuromedical Center are possible:
- University Department of Stereotactic Neurosurgery
- University Department of Neurology
- Department of Neuroradiology
- Institute for Neuropathology
