Dr. Jasper K.W. Gerritsen is young specialist, practicing at the Department of Neurosurgery at Erasmus MC, Rotterdam. After several years of investigation and dedicated work on Awake Brain Surgery in Glioblastoma Patients, in 2022 he managed to defense a PhD at University Medical Center Rotterdam. He is the coordinating researcher of the international multicenter randomised controlled SAFE-trial and principal investigator of the prospective PROGRAM cohort study. He co-founded the ENCRAM Transatlantic Research Consortium to investigate the clinical application of awake craniotomy and intraoperative mapping techniques in glioblastoma patients. His well-structured data and results gained expected recognition within European and international neurosurgical community as well.
