Neurinomas and neurofibromas are relatively common tumors that can lead to massive compression of the spinal cord from the outside. Not infrequently, these tumors occur in the context of hereditary diseases (neurofibromatosis). They threaten the function of the spinal cord and lead to the occurrence of pain or neurological deficits.
