The Department of Neurosurgery traditionally has great expertise in the treatment of children with neurosurgical diseases. The spectrum includes the entire range of tumor diseases, malformations of the brain, the cerebral ventricle, and the cranial bone, as well as diseases of the spinal cord in particular.

Treatment is always carried out in close cooperation with the pediatric clinic, where there is also an interdisciplinary pediatric tumor board for the treatment of our patients, some of whom are very young.

Experienced pediatric anesthesiologists care for our patients during surgery and, if necessary, interdisciplinary procedures are planned with pediatric surgeons, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, or ENT physicians. Children with multiple injuries and accidents are treated together by physicians from the University Department of Trauma Surgery.
