Prof. Dr. H. Schroeder is chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery in Greifswald, Germany since 2004. His clinical and scientific interest in the field of endoscopic neurosurgery leaded to numerous international observerships and trainings. Among them Phoenix Childrens´ Hospital, Phoenix, Arizona; Barrow Neurosurgical Institute, Phoenix, Arizona; UCLA San Francisco, California; University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Because of this broad experience in endoscopic skull base surgery Prof.  Schroeder was chosen for chairperson in several International societies as the International Federation of Neuroendoscopy and Endoscopic committee of the EANS among others. His teaching activity expresses not only oral presentations and lectures, but also the organization of numerous hands-on and cadaver courses worldwide. Prof. H. Schroeder gave his unreplaceable contribution to our symposium in February 2023.
