Metastases
In approximately 5% of all cancer patients (e.g. patients with lung, prostate or breast cancer), the spine is affected by metastases. Metastases can endanger the stability of the spine or lead to pain and neurological dysfunction due to pressure on the spinal cord and nerves.
Therapy is carried out in close interdisciplinary cooperation with oncological and radiotherapeutic colleagues (tumor board). Various surgical therapies can maintain/restore stability, relieve spinal cord compression and alleviate pain.
We will be happy to advise you on treatment options.
