Around half of patients with a brain aneurysm suffer from a life-threatening cerebral hemorrhage and require immediate treatment at a vascular center. In the other half of patients, aneurysms are discovered by chance.

Whether treatment is necessary and which options should be considered must be assessed and decided individually for each patient.
