Prof. Dr. H. Duffau is head of the Neurosurgical Department and the INSERM 1051 Team "Plasticity of the central nervous system, human stem cells and glial tumors" at the University Clinic and Institute for Neurosciences of Montpellier, France. He is a recognized as the expert in the field of Awake Surgery with more than 500 personal publications. With the founding of the European Low Grade Glioma Network therapeutic principles could be internationally distributed. His works became the basis for awake surgery protocols worldwide and changed the basic view on the functional organization of the human cerebral cortex.
