N. Tonchev is senior resident at the Department of Neurosurgery at the University Hospital Magdeburg. His very early interest in neuroanatomy and active participation in different educational courses contributed to his rapid development as a young neurosurgeon. Throughout his training under close guidance by Prof. I. E. Sandalcioglu, he managed to accomplish a full year internship at the Department of Functional Neurosurgery under Prof. Dr. J. Voges and gather important experience in the area of Neuromodulation and Deep Brain Stimulation. Currently his focus of work represents the implimentation of modern visualization methods in preoperative and intraoperative neurosurgical procedures.
